Still Forming

We are, all of us, still forming. And it is in stillness, perhaps, that we form the most.

What I Wanted to Tell Her

December 04, 2011 by Christianne in Life

Kirk's beloved aunt Diana passed away last night at 8:32 p.m.

If I had been brave enough to call in those few last days, I would have told her this:

Diana,

I love you.

And I want you to know that the conversation we shared on the hike to Huckleberry Point that one day is one of the most cherished conversations of my life. I still look back on that day and remember how we walked and talked with such ease, and I find that so amazing. I don't do that easily with very many people, and I think my ability to do that with you has so much to do with the gift of your openness and presence.

I hold the memory of that day very close to my heart, and I know that I always will. Thank you for that conversation. Thank you for sharing your life with me.

I will miss you.

Love always,

Christianne

You can learn more about the memorable hike and conversation I shared with Diana in this post that I wrote after we visited her in New York in 2008.
